Twentynine Palms Photographer {Before and After}

There is so much that happens behind the scenes for a photographer after the session is over. The desired affect is to get the image s close to perfect within your camera but there are some magical things that are done right here on my computer. Above is my nephew – who of course I feel is perfect in every way – as I think about his parents hanging these images on their wall I want there to be a simplicity in looking at his details at the tiny things that are so precious while he is this itty bitty. Through editing I simply want to remove distractions and create a cohesive image.

If you watched my work and the direction of it over the years I hope you have continued to see what truly matters, connection. I want there to be a connection in every image I deliver so that is what I strive for. When I bring the images home and look at them on my computer screen I want to feel the connection between the subjects or with me and the camera. Once I have that I already have a beautiful image through editing I just hope to enhance what is already there.

Editing is as much of the art form as the time behind my camera. It takes time and passion to create the final photograph that I deliver but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So this family and I have had a long photographic history with one another. I began photographing their story when Maddie was a newborn. We have had many sessions together since, her momma loves pictures! Hilary wanted to do a stylized session so we ran with some great ideas. I ordered 50 yards of tulle and began designing. This was my first session ever where I made all of the clothing that they were wearing. We had plans, great plans. Sunset, gorgeous dresses it was going to be perfection. We also had a two year old. She let us know the moment we attempted to put her dress on that she was the boss. Hilary had already let me know she wanted real; she wanted to tell their story, the one that they are living right here and right now. She wanted all of it. So that is what we did and every image is perfect. Every image has a moment, a memory attached to it and for that I am grateful. I love my job! I love perfect imperfection! 2017 Announcements with Memories by Tasha Photography – Twentynine Palms Photographer

Happy New Year! a few days late…. 2017! I don’t even know how it is 2017. The years seem to pass faster the older I get so I realize more every day how precious my own moments, memories are. How excited I am to be invited to capture yours. With the fear of sounding slightly corny I truthfully imagine your future children, your grandchildren peering upon these images years from now. Something great happens when my children spread a box of pictures on the floor. They giggle. They remember. They ask questions. They connect with these images and their memories.

This business started as a hobby that grew through out the years. Never could I have imagined where it would be today, all that it would give me or all that it would mean to my soul. But it replenishes my being regularly.

With the new year I have a few new personal and professional goals. No different than most every body else. I won’t be sharing them all today but I do have two that I can’t wait to tell you about…….

Life, friendship, and business has allowed me to begin a partnership with another local business. Desert Birth and Wellness will display pieces of moments captured during maternity, birth and newborn sessions on their walls. Through our collaboration with one another clients can find one more piece to their birth story in one place, whether it be they need photography services or anything (almost) prenatal, birth, and postnatal related we can connect them to the right professionals. I will proudly provide maternity, birth, and newborn packages to clients of Desert Birth & Wellness; with a free print for mentioning them! Of course I am always open to discussing any of your other photography needs. This partnership also includes the opportunity to utilize a space for holiday minis so be on the lookout for something fun soon!

The other big news that I want to share is that we have recently purchased a project that will eventually be the Memories by Tasha Photography Studio space. I will still do most work outside, on location in the beautiful place we call home but will be able to provide a studio location for newborns, childhood milestones, holiday children’s minis, headshots and boudoir photography. There will be some awesomeness when it is grand opening time so make sure to always keep those eyes open!

{ Key Birth Story } – Twentynine Palms Maternity and Newborn Photographer

When Hannah contacted me to discuss her upcoming birth and newborn pictures I had already decided I wouldn’t be photographing anymore births; well as you can see by these images I caved. Hannah and I hit it off right away and spent our coffee date discussing photography with a little of everything else. I am always so amazed and blessed by the many people that this business has brought to my life. There was some worry that dad might not be local when it was birth time so how could I not be there to capture this amazing time for this wonderful growing family.

This particular birth story started in an operating room instead of the delivery room but what an awesome opportunity for a photographer to be invited into the OR. I walked in the room as momma was walking away to the OR to meet dad for the first time. We became fast friends as we were about to experience the amazing arrival of their baby girl. In true southern girl fashion Hannah wanted her hair to be perfect for pictures so her anesthesiologist made sure to fix her hair for the camera 🙂

I was able to spend a few minutes after baby S arrived with the family, capturing their first moments as three and what a pleasure to watch two people fall in love with their new baby girl and each other all over again.

On day 4 I got to spend the day with baby S, her momma, and grandma capturing some great images for her newborn session. We used elements of her daddy’s career, family jewelry and other great colors, fabrics and textures to create a series of images that I know they will cherish forever.

Thank you Key family for allowing me to be a part of our family’s story. I’m so excited for October and apparently for Baby S’s prom 😉

{Faust Maternity Session} Twentynine Palms Maternity Photographer visits Fallbrook

My photography has given me so many blessings and in this session I get to count so many more. Meet my bestie and her hubby; they truly are some of the best people we know. Over the years we have become family and are so excited to watch them in this next adventure. With Jemma Grace on the way I am glad I could capture the joy of this time for them. I have to say though there are always more bloopers in the Faust sessions because they think it is funny to make crazy faces and be strange but what are friends for right? Don’t worry I save them all for blackmail later 🙂 Love you Faust Family!!

Browning Newborn Session – Twentynine Palms Photographer

So sometimes we meet people in a different capacity then we imagined. So the Brownings showed up at our house when we were selling some furniture and thanks to my daughter Kaylyn we connected the baby bump with my photography business. Having two parents as active duty Marines we had fun creating “moto” images for each of them. Dad had painted a pallet into a beautiful art piece with the American Flag so we found lots of great uses for that piece during this session. As well you will notice that we used the Browning logo to pull in their iconic last name. This was a super fun and personal session. Thank you again for allowing me to help capture this time in your family’s story!

Too Cute – Twentynine Palms Maternity Photography

These two really are just too cute for words. They are fun, loving and photogenic <3. There is not much more a photographer could ask for. They are also busy with life changing right now so they are keeping me busy. I got to photograph their 2nd wedding before Christmas, be on the lookout for another beautiful blog post soon, and a new arrival soon. It is always awesome when you get the chance to work with clients through multiple life events. Saul is also a photographer in some of his spare time only he uses an old school camera, that winds, and film. We incorporated some mages on that beauty as well so he had to teach me a thing or two (not sure how I did).

It’s Baby Time!! – Twentynine Palms Birth Photography

This post is a bit late and long but I am super excited to share it. I was asked to photograph a birth by some doula friends of mine. With no birth photography experience I was excited to do it but with new experiences and ones I can’t recreate I was just as nervous. I have chosen to share this experience in black and white because for me these images give more emotion than the color.

This was a home birth in water so as a woman who has given birth to 3 children in a hospital, in a bed I was curious as to how this whole birthing process would work. Well it was an awesome experience that I am thankful I was asked to be a part of. With a doula and two midwives this laboring mom had lots of support. It was a very calming and natural process that of course netted one of the best gifts; a beautiful healthy baby girl!!

You may notice that the three other children were a part of welcoming their new sister into the world so this was a family moment shared in a peaceful manner. All new to me it was an amazing time where what happens naturally actually occurred naturally!!

Baby “N” – Yucca Valley Newborn Photographer

Baby “N” was only 7 days old when I got to meet her. She came into the world at over 10 lbs and was welcomed by her parents and twin brothers! She slept tight and remained snuggly for us throughout our shoot. She is a “Year in the Life” package baby so I am super excited to get to chronicle her 1st year!!

The smaller details in life, our first born, our itty bittys! I was happy to photograph this little family’s new addition. Baby H entered into this world early so he had a few small struggles but was perfection for our session. These images are all precious to each family and are time sakes for each of them.
