Warfield Retirement – Twentynine Palms Event Photography

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I am so blessed to get to watch and photograph so many great events. Every retirement ceremony is a little bit different as those who have served with the retiree begin to tell stories, these stories include times of heroism, times of sacrifice, times of a brotherhood like no other, times of happiness and times of mourning. The Warfield retirement including the great tales of a young Marine who grew to be a leader and a friend to many! This family is moving onto the next chapter in their lives with pride of who their Marine was and has become, I wish all the luck and happiness in the world. Congratulations!

We of course had to capture some family images and images with all the guests that came to celebrate this great moment!

It’s Baby Time!! – Twentynine Palms Birth Photography

This post is a bit late and long but I am super excited to share it. I was asked to photograph a birth by some doula friends of mine. With no birth photography experience I was excited to do it but with new experiences and ones I can’t recreate I was just as nervous. I have chosen to share this experience in black and white because for me these images give more emotion than the color.

This was a home birth in water so as a woman who has given birth to 3 children in a hospital, in a bed I was curious as to how this whole birthing process would work. Well it was an awesome experience that I am thankful I was asked to be a part of. With a doula and two midwives this laboring mom had lots of support. It was a very calming and natural process that of course netted one of the best gifts; a beautiful healthy baby girl!!

You may notice that the three other children were a part of welcoming their new sister into the world so this was a family moment shared in a peaceful manner. All new to me it was an amazing time where what happens naturally actually occurred naturally!!

Baby “N” – Yucca Valley Newborn Photographer

Baby “N” was only 7 days old when I got to meet her. She came into the world at over 10 lbs and was welcomed by her parents and twin brothers! She slept tight and remained snuggly for us throughout our shoot. She is a “Year in the Life” package baby so I am super excited to get to chronicle her 1st year!!

Family Vacay Photo Op :)

So there is a saying out there; All because two people fell in love. Well that is the story behind this great fun family session. All because these two fell in love there is a great story of family, friendship, goofiness, and look at how it has grown over the years! They have added son in laws and grandchildren. We spent a very warm afternoon on the golf course outside their vacation condos posing, playing, and laughing. These are my favorite kind of sessions.

Paige, Wildcat Extraordinaire – Twentynine Palms Senior Portrait Photographer

One more high school senior, meet Paige! This wildcat plays tennis, basketball, and softball; in all her spare time this beauty is a firefighter explorer. After high school she will be attending college to continue her passion for fire fighting and helping people. Her mom and I have known each other for a few years now so it has been a pleasure to watch Paige grow up and what fun us three girls had while traipsing through the basin looking for great spots. Paige picked one of my favorite places to start her shoot, the Whitewater Preserve and after that they were good sports when we stopped at random locations! I hope they are as pleased with the results as I am. Congratulations to yet one more great Twentynine Palms Senior!

Jack’s Graduating, Baseball, Select Choir, Soccer and more….. Twentynine Palms Photographer visits Joshua Tree

Another awesome and individual senior session. This one was unique because we shot the entire session in Jack’s backyard. I’m a bit jealous of the location, it was gorgeous and versatile. This is the third sibling in the house that I have had the pleasure of capturing a senior moment with so of course I was super excited for this session. Then we added the classic car what more could a photographer ask for, oh that’s right a great subject 🙂 Jack and I bummed around looking for different settings and capturing places that are fond to his childhood. Like the climbing he has done with Ranger up that very hill for years. The view of the valley was another important catch for Jack and of course, baseball, his love so we needed to add that to our session. Another fun time photographed and memorialized!!

The Valedictorian, meet Heather! – Twentynine Palms Photographer

This is Heather, she is a high school senior at Twentynine Palms High School. She is an athlete and a scholar; she is the Valedictorian for the graduating class of 2014. I have had the pleasure of getting know Heather through a series of photographic opportunities with her family over the last year so I was excited when her mom contacted me to do her senior portraits. Heather will be off to Arizona in the fall and I know we will continue to hear about the great things she is yet to accomplish!

The “D” Family welcomes Baby “L”! – Twentynine Palms Newborn Photograhy

Meet the “D” family who recently welcomed their first child. I was excited that they asked me to photograph this awesome time as I was able to watch them through out the pregnancy as well. This little guy did not want to sleep for us but it is rumored that after I left he slept the rest of the day. Dad loves turtles so we had to use some props for dad’s pictures. We also used one of mom’s papa’s shirts to honor her family, I love when families include pieces of who they are to add to a story that can be told through these images.
