Margie and the Family – Twentynine Palms Family Photographer, Memories by Tasha Photographer

I understand all too well how difficult it is to get an updated family photo now that the kids are grown and living somewhere else so when Margie asked me to come over on Christmas Eve I was game.  It was definitely a cold desert winter day but everyone was a good sport about hanging out in the impressive view of their home’s yard.  Yes this is what they get to wake up to!

So they all had me cracking up the entire time.  From the pup who seemed to be right in there for photos, to the granddaughter who had her supermodel poses practiced and ready, and the boys who were playful and ornery keeping everyone smiling.  Capturing this families dynamic was my pleasure and these images speak to their love for one another!

I know Margie’s heart will melt and I am so glad we were able to spend a small piece of the holiday making memories that she can hang on her wall.

Jett turns ONE – Twentynine Palms Photographer, Memories by Tasha Photography

So I was excited when momma contacted me to do this little man’s ONE year photos because you see we worked together to create a fun announcement about his momma’s pregnancy with him.  His momma is always creative and fun to design a session with.  And with a name like Jett nothing like airplanes to create a gorgeous set of images.

Unfortunately his session was scheduled on a cold, blistery day here in the desert so some modifications to his session were required.  Jett gave several great pictures, smiles, tears and all but he decided he was done with the weather before he smashed his cake.  Cue a 4 year old sister, who was dying to get her hands and taste buds on that cake, to have a fun cake smash with the best cutie pie pictures and it all works out.

WOW What a year 2016! – Memories by Tasha Photography

2017 has BIG things coming, I am beyond excited but before we move forward let’s take a moment to look back through this year of awesomeness!

Every year I am amazed at the collection of experiences I have through my lens.  The emotions, the connections, the relationships, reunions, new life and existing bonds, the moments captured; I am never quite prepared for all that it is.  The images before me never cease to inspire me to want to work harder for this business and for you my clients and friends.

Throughout the years, I have watched your families grow, change, send loved ones off to new adventures and reconnect again and again.  I have met so many new people, made new friends, hung out with those visiting our beautiful desert while on vacation, snuggled the newest of babies, so many of my own stories and experiences are because of all of you.  Capturing your love stories, your birth stories, your history and your hopes for tomorrow is always my honor and my goal.

In this year, I have shared with you 39 families. 4 weddings, 1 vow renewal, 2 military retirements, 7 life events, 1 birth, 8 mommas & daddies to be, 11 newborns, 6 seniors, 3 military families reunited, 6 cakes smashes, 1 tea party birthday celebration, 1 sunset father/daughter dance session and 8 sessions celebrating childhood milestones.  I look at these collages and I am astonished at this year and the beauty that it has held.

Twentynine Palms Event Photography – Sloan Homecoming

Welcome home Marine!  This is the second time I have been able to be with this family to welcome home their hero.  Such a sweet thing as a photographer to work with the same families again and again.  One of my greatest blessings.

Homecomings are such a raw event to photograph.  There is an anticipation in the air like nothing else you can imagine because while your spouse has been gone everyone has grown, changed; life has continued and paused all at the same time here at home in away that is difficult to understand.

Children play while the waiting is sometimes long, spouses are tuned into their emotions and trying to keep their own feet on the ground while they wait for the first sighting of those white buses.  There is so much love and excitement in the air that you can’t help but feel the emotions yourself.  As the white buses make their way Lindsay’s excitement began to bubble over, her smiles became those that only her Marine could create, the love of her life was actually somewhere in the sea of uniforms looking for her.  That first glance and smile will determine the next moments, Lindsay ran and greeted her hero with a hug that escaped all the months and miles that kept them apart.  Her world was silent in the chaos and whole once again.

As a father and husband leaving behind your family for months to serve your country all comes down in the end to these moments of familiar comfort, the smiles that have kept you going and the warmth of being with your family once again.

Welcome home!  And thank you Sloan family for your service.

Wow! Where did the Year go? – Key Family

Twentynine Palms Children's Photography - Yucca Valley Children's Photography - Joshua Tree Children's Photography - Key

Almost a year ago I met this little lady, she was brand new to the world!  Her father and I walked into the operating room where her mother laid in anticipation of the biggest moment in her life.  Nathan and I watched, I also photographed as she took her first breathes.  The opportunity to capture these moments in time are beyond blessings to me yet this family has continued to bless me.  Nathan said that day we were tied for life because the 3 of us shared in that moment.

Here we are a year later, I have photographed them many other times, Hannah and I have shared cups of coffee, parenting stories and ideas.  They have become more than clients to me as I have watched them blossom as a family.

This perfect little girl will be one next month, she is celebrated and loved.  Thank you for once again allowing me to capture these times in your lives #keypartyof3

Summer Love

Twentynine Palms Couple's Photography - Yucca Valley Couple's Photography - Joshua Tree Couple's Photography - LeinsAriel contacted me to help capture their relationship in time, in the desert that they currently call home.  She wanted a special location that would show the beauty of our desert and light, while encapsulating their deep love for each other.  We found the space, we found the light and they were exquisite in front of my camera.

William was consistently the one making us laugh and wonder would we manage those endearing images every wife wants; as you can see he pulled through time and time again.  He makes her laugh, he makes her swoon.  They danced among the Joshua trees.  She captured his touch, his glances and his deep devotion.

During this time in life these two wanted to include their fur babies who also did a great job.  They only pulled Ariel through the desert once otherwise they were not people or camera shy!

Thank you both for allowing me to help preserve these moments for you! Twentynine Palms Couple's Photography - Yucca Valley Couple's Photography - Joshua Tree Couple's Photography - Leins 2

Twentynine Palms Family Photographer – Brookins Family Fun!

Twentynine Palms Family Photographer - Brookins

I had the opportunity to photograph this family a couple of years ago; they even said they had fun!  This time there was the addition of a grandson so even more awesome.  With a big blended family photo shoots can be a little stressful but these guys show up every time ready to smile and have fun.

While discussing a location Andrea was excited to use the Indian Cove campground as their backdrop as they enjoying hiking there as a family.  This was a great chance to capture them in an environment that holds memories for them together.

Visiting from North Carolina was their new and handsome grandson who was super full of smiles.  Everyone wanted their picture with him so they all took turns trading baby and smiles.

There were lots of laughs, lots of funny faces and lots of memories captured!  Thank you for trusting me once again to capture these forever moments and I look forward to our next adventure.

Twentynine Palms Photography – The Navarros visit

This fun family lived here in 29 Palms for 5 years; they say it was an adjustment but they eventually fell in love with the desert as so many of us do.  They however received orders before they captured that love so they adventured back up here for a family session.  With visitors in tow we were able to capture some fun, loving family portraits that will serve as a reminder of their time here!  Both girls were ready to climb the beautiful rocks of Joshua Tree National Park so on a smaller scale we tried to make sure we snagged a shot of them on the rocks.  The littlest guy was having fun using those legs, to run, everywhere but with his family’s help and I am pretty sure funny faces behind me he gave me some smiles to die for.  I hope the Navarros love every image as they are gorgeous together and in the amazing scenery that I am lucky enough to call home!

Yucca Valley Maternity and Newborn Photographer – The Martinez’s become 3

Bumps, bumps, and more bumps equals babies.  I so love maternity sessions and of course newborn session so when I am booked to photograph a family through both sessions I am elated.  After some illness Jenn, Pete and I were finally able to meet out at the Big Canyon Morongo Preserve where we talked about what was to come and the welcoming of their little one.  It so happens that Pete and I sort of know each other, my husband and him work together, so that is always that much better.

When mommy-to-be is as stunning as Jenn it makes my job easy and Pete was ready to show off his gorgeous wife!  As we walked through the preserve Jenn was greeted by hikers with enthusiasm; she had never been photographed like this before so the attention made her smile.  She made for a great subject and helped me create beautiful images.  Hopefully she’ll continue to put herself in front of the camera!  Pete kept her laughing, the entire time – a great thing to see between a couple.

Not long and they will be welcoming their little boy; be on the lookout for their newborn session.  I know they can’t wait to meet him and neither can!
