Twentynine Palms Photographer {Before and After}

There is so much that happens behind the scenes for a photographer after the session is over.  The desired affect is to get the image s close to perfect within your camera but there are some magical things that are done right here on my computer.  Above is my nephew – who of course I feel is perfect in every way – as I think about his parents hanging these images on their wall I want there to be a simplicity in looking at his details at the tiny things that are so precious while he is this itty bitty.  Through editing I simply want to remove distractions and create a cohesive image.

If you watched my work and the direction of it over the years I hope you have continued to see what truly matters, connection.  I want there to be a connection in every image I deliver so that is what I strive for.  When I bring the images home and look at them on my computer screen I want to feel the connection between the subjects or with me and the camera.  Once I have that I already have a beautiful image through editing I just hope to enhance what is already there.

Editing is as much of the art form as the time behind my camera.  It takes time and passion to create the final photograph that I deliver but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Twentynine Palms Family Photographer {Jenkins Family 2017}

I say it every year, I am going to be better about blogging these sessions, these moments in time that I am so lucky to be trusted to capture.  This family and I have been capturing moments together since the beginning of my business and I can’t express how awesome it is to have watched them through the years.  I have grown to have an amazing friendship with the momma of this family and continue to be proud of what they stand for.  Thank you for once again letting me into your lives Jenkins family!TwentyninePalmsFamilyPhotographer - Jenkins

Mahrer Mommy and Me Moments with Memories by Tasha Photography – Yucca Valley Family Photographer

I love, love, love these sessions.  As a mom they absolutely pull on my heartstrings and now that my girls are older the opportunities for these things are fewer.  With Mother’s Day fast approaching I am reminded of the special connection between a parent and a child, between a mother and her baby.  When Leslie contacted me to schedule this special session I was excited to help commemorate her very first Mother’s Day and when two beauties show up like this magic happens.  This session gave me all the feels.  Enjoy!

Kelsey’s Senior Session with Memories by Tasha Photography – Yucca Valley Photographer

This is such an exciting time in our youths’ lives.  They are preparing for their tomorrows, enjoying their todays, and trying to figure it all out along the way.  This beautiful young lady was so much fun to photograph.  We wondered around the Morongo Preserve and Pioneertown to capture these fantastic images.  She wasn’t too sure about being the focus of the camera at first but as you can see she was a natural.  Both beautiful inside and out she is looking forward to her future all while serving God.  A wonderful soul.

Serb Couple’s Session with Memories by Tasha Photography – Twentynine Palms Photographer

We seriously laughed the entire session.  I am not sure who was the funny but the three of us couldn’t help ourselves.  Donuts, donuts are quite laughable.  These two lovebirds are here for the desert views as long as the Marine Corps tells them so they wanted to opportunity to capture a piece of their story while they are here.  It is always wonderful to meet a couple so well connected and that can make each other laugh; laughter truly does give a relationship such a spark.  I enjoyed getting to know these two and photographing themTwentynine Palms Couples Photography - Twentynine Palms Couples Photographer Serb

Browning Family Perfectly Imperfect with Memories by Tasha Photography – Twentynine Palms Photographer

So this family and I have had a long photographic history with one another.  I began photographing their story when Maddie was a newborn.  We have had many sessions together since, her momma loves pictures!  Hilary wanted to do a stylized session so we ran with some great ideas.  I ordered 50 yards of tulle and began designing.  This was my first session ever where I made all of the clothing that they were wearing.  We had plans, great plans.  Sunset, gorgeous dresses it was going to be perfection.  We also had a two year old.  She let us know the moment we attempted to put her dress on that she was the boss.  Hilary had already let me know she wanted real; she wanted to tell their story, the one that they are living right here and right now.  She wanted all of it.  So that is what we did and every image is perfect.  Every image has a moment, a memory attached to it and for that I am grateful.  I love my job!  I love perfect imperfection!Twentynine Palms Family Photographer - Yucca Valley Family Photographer Browning

Rasmussen Engagement with Memories by Tasha Photography – Twentynine Palms Photographer

Cuteness and love were in the air.  Couples sessions are always a fun adventure.  As a photographer I want to capture their relationship, their time uninterrupted but as a client they are so aware that a camera is there photographing them and their every move.  Taking the time to slow down and work together to achieve a natural session is so important.

Kathryn contacted me before the holidays to set up a sunset engagement session; her one request Joshua Trees!  I love out desert and I love to capture clients that are excited about it’s beauty so of course I was ready to oblige.  15 years I have been here and I still believe there is nothing like our sunrises and sunsets.

We met at a hot spot in Joshua Tree before traveling to a desert location so we took advantage of getting to know each other a little and of the great textures at the JT Saloon.  I was quickly aware I would have to remind these two to look at the camera every once in awhile because they were fairly smitten with one another.

Kathryn from the east coast and Jack from the west are here in Twentynine Palms courtesy of the Marine Corps but they are enjoying their time here, together awaiting the next adventure.  A fall wedding to plan on the other coast and possibly an upcoming move they are fully learning all about Marine Corps family life.

Playful, flirty and fun would be my best description of these two and their session.  I asked Jack a couple of questions, “Do you ever give her piggy back rides?”  His response, ” Depends on where we are going.”  It was stated with such confidence no one would have guessed the real answer NEVER.  So we tried it.  I also asked him, “Do you have a thing, you know a special sweet kiss or something?”  Well what followed was a silly rendition of kissing but oh so sweet.

I wish you many years of happiness and joy!  May life and the Marine Corps take you on many adventures together.  Congratulations Jack and Kathryn!2017-01-08_0001
