The Ericksons were on their way out of Twentynine Palms for a military move so we captured some great images for them to commemorate  the time here and hopefully help decorate their new home.  Family sessions in the Joshua Tree National Park inevitably mean we will be doing some rock climbing, generally more than mom and dad had planned 🙂 ; this session was no different.  With little adventurous ones we had fun finding new spots, on new rocks, that we could photograph both the beauty of this family as well as, the amazing desert setting.

As moms we often miss the opportunity to capture ourselves and our relationships with those in our family; it is something that I always encourage my moms to – I myself am bad about it.  Mom rocked her portraits like a star in this session.  Bet the hubby has one of these in his wallet before too long.  We also took a few brief moments to capture mom and dad not as parents but as a couple.  These two were fun and endearing to one another creating amazing pictures but also emoting their love and friendship.  These are the moments that I live for and are why I am so in love with what I do ❤

{ Key Birth Story } – Twentynine Palms Maternity and Newborn Photographer

When Hannah contacted me to discuss her upcoming birth and newborn pictures I had already decided I wouldn’t be photographing anymore births; well as you can see by these images I caved.  Hannah and I hit it off right away and spent our coffee date discussing photography with a little of everything else.  I am always so amazed and blessed by the many people that this business has brought to my life.  There was some worry that dad might not be local when it was birth time so how could I not be there to capture this amazing time for this wonderful growing family.

This particular birth story started in an operating room instead of the delivery room but what an awesome opportunity for a photographer to be invited into the OR.  I walked in the room as momma was walking away to the OR to meet dad for the first time.  We became fast friends as we were about to experience the amazing arrival of their baby girl.  In true southern girl fashion Hannah wanted her hair to be perfect for pictures so her anesthesiologist made sure to fix her hair for the camera 🙂

I was able to spend a few minutes after baby S arrived with the family, capturing their first moments as three and what a pleasure to watch two people fall in love with their new baby girl and each other all over again.

On day 4 I got to spend the day with baby S, her momma, and grandma capturing some great images for her newborn session.  We used elements of her daddy’s career, family jewelry and other great colors, fabrics and textures to create a series of images that I know they will cherish forever.

Thank you Key family for allowing me to be a part of our family’s story.  I’m so excited for October and apparently for Baby S’s prom 😉

{ Browning 4th of July Session } Twentynine Palms Family Photographer

The Brownings and I met last December through a garage sale purchase, from there I have had the pleasure of getting to know them and watch them grow as a family.  Pregnant when we met they asked me to do their newborn pictures, since that we have met on a few more occasions to celebrate this first year in their daughter’s life.  Always one of my favorites to work with a family again and again.  Doesn’t always work that way in a military town.

These two are super proud of who they are, the country that they serve and their family.  We have been able to capture that throughout every session while allowing their families to see this little one blossom and grow.  I believe Hilary and I bully Ethan just a bit but he is always smiles and a good sport; even when we pulled out the tutu at this last session.

{Lucille’s One} Twentynine Palms Children’s Photographer

When Lucille’s mommy contacted me about scheduling a Cake Smash session I was super excited.  With ideas in hand we scheduled her session for a gorgeous local preserve and park; one that the family frequents often so it made for a perfect backdrop to memorialize this occasion.

I met Lucille’s mom through business dealings about two years ago so I was lucky enough to see her transition from wife to mom as her belly grew.  We lost touch for a bit but when she emailed me to capture the First Birthday images I couldn’t wait.

Lucille with her beautiful porcelain skin was delightful to photograph as we moved through a few different set ups.  She definitely wanted to be on the move and was very serious the entire time we were shooting.  With family all over, including Canada, I know all be excited to see this stuffed animal party and Lucille’s cheek.  When not looking at her beyond poofy cheeks you may be caught in those blue eyes.  I know I was.  She wasn’t a huge fan of the cake which in the long run always makes mom happy she played along for us so we could get some adorable shots with lots of facial expressions I am sure will make everyone smile.

I love maternity sessions; I love babies so I was super excited when Katrina and Will decided to let me capture their new adventure.  Since they are here on a short military tour they wanted to make sure to capture the beauty of the desert; the birth place of their new life together as mom and dad!  With baby due to arrive soon be on the look out for more gorgeous images of this family.

My photography has given me so many blessings and in this session I get to count so many more.  Meet my bestie and her hubby; they truly are some of the best people we know.  Over the years we have become family and are so excited to watch them in this next adventure.  With Jemma Grace on the way I am glad I could capture the joy of this time for them.  I have to say though there are always more bloopers in the Faust sessions because they think it is funny to make crazy faces and be strange but what are friends for right?  Don’t worry I save them all for blackmail later 🙂  Love you Faust Family!!

I got to capture this family from bump to baby; aren’t they gorgeous!  Mom loves everything girly, anything pink, pearls, lace so we had a great time incorporating all those elements into this newborn session!  Anslee wanted to stay awake for all her beautiful images; once we got her into this deep sleep we snapped away capturing many gorgeous sweet images.  Congratulations Santiago family!
